of the Year.
On Tuesday, April 22, at the National Small Business Administration’s annual award ceremony held in Washington D.C., Marvel Manufacturing Company, Inc. co-owners Bob Beach, Jim Jourdan, and John Petek were presented the Wisconsin State Small Business Persons of the Year award. All 50 states including the Virgin Islands, Guam, and Puerto Rico were represented by their state winners. The three-day event included receptions for the state award winners at the State Department and the Capitol, highlighted by a White House reception in the East Wing with President George Bush.

Jack Fischer, Secretary of Commerce for the State of Wisconsin, presented a State of Wisconsin Technology Tax Credit to Marvel Manufacturing to assist with business growth and development. They now qualify for up to $250,000.00 in state tax credits if they can grow in employee base and new manufacturing technology. Marvel Mfg. has made a commitment to job growth in Wisconsin.

State helps finance upgrade at Marvel (WI Governor's Office) Marvel Manufacturing Co. will receive $250,000 in state Tech Zone tax credits to help pay for the installation of new equipment at its Oshkosh facility, the Commerce Department said today.
Marvel will create 43 new positions over five years and retain 125 full-time jobs. The installation represents an investment of more than $2 million.
"As we grow our business in the Oshkosh area, we remain committed to our first premise that we will remain the leader in metal cutting by means of offering the most technologically advanced product available in today's marketplace," said John Petek, CEO of Marvel, in a statement.
Marvel Manufacturing was formed in 2004 by three former metal manufacturing executives, James Jordan, John Petek and Robert Beach. The company makes metal-cutting machine tools, specializing in the manufacture of Marvel band saws.

NEW PA460-HD Marvel Mfg. Co. is pleased to announce the latest addition to our Spartan production band saw line, the new PA460-HD. This is a rugged twin post machine specifically designed to cut specialty steels. This new model combines rigid construction, a 10 HP blade drive and enhanced coolant delivery. The innovative vibration dampening system helps to reduce noise levels extend blade life. The end result is a saw that delivers maximum cutting rates on tough to cut materials such as tool steel and stainless. The machine vise is a split front jaw design that holds material securely on both sides of the cut, while the automatic bar feed vise is designed to reduce remnant lengths to as little as 3 inches. Additional standard features include a touch screen N/C control, 1.5 inch blade and power chip auger.
Marvel Manufacturing Company Introduces Series 8 MARK III Marvel Manufacturing Company is proud to introduce the Marvel Series 8 Mark III, the latest version of the world’s most popular band saw. Other machines have tried but none have equaled the performance, flexibility and durability of this industry standard. Marvel has been the leading manufacturer of vertical tilt frame band saws since the introduction of the first Series 8 machines in 1917. The 8 Mark III has a capacity of 18” x 22”, with an optional vertical capacity of 28”.
